Event Details
"I have not known a moment in years when the sight of you did not send my heart careening against my ribcage. I have not known a night when your visage did not accompany me to sleep. There has not been a morning when you did not flutter behind my waking eyelids...Is any of this getting through to you, Buttercup?"
-The Princess Bride
Where (And When) To Go
The ceremony and reception will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Kennedy Grove, at the picnic site called Clancy's Place.
We'll start serving drinks at 11:30 a.m, so come out, have a drink, chat and check out the park. The ceremony will take place at 12:30, which should give you plenty of time to find a place to picnic and enjoy the site beforehand. We recommend giving yourself plenty of time to find the park before the ceremony.
What To Bring
Please bring a picnic blanket. This will be your seat for the ceremony, and for whenever you feel like lolling around afterward.
If you need to sit in a chair rather than on the ground, please let us know and we'll be happy to provide it for you. We'll also have a few extra picnic blankets available. (On that note, please let us know if you're able to bring extra blankets with you.)
You should also feel free to bring any of the following:
- Cameras
- Sun protection
- Stuff you play with at a park (i.e. Frisbees, volleyballs, etc. - but no pets, please)
- A dish to share
Our wonderful wedding coordinator, Julie, will be on hand to greet you when you arrive and show you where to put your potluck dish and picnic blanket.
What To Wear
As we've mentioned, this will be a picnic in the park, complete with lawn games and sitting on blankets. You should wear something you'll be comfortable in -- and if that something is jeans, that's just fine with us. However, if you like getting snazzy, go for it! There should be enough casual wear and enough fanciness among the other guests that you won't feel out of place either way.
About footwear: the ground is a mix of soft green lawn (to sink your high heels into) and rough gravel/bark/dirt (to chew up your bare feet). Flats or wedges will probably be the most comfortable shoes.
Also, we're not sure what the weather's going to be like, so you might want to bring some warm layers and sun protection. Feel free to contact us if you have questions.
